Toronto is a city that has constantly been improving and adapting to the changing times. From the skyscrapers downtown, to the beautiful neighborhoods on either side of the city, this Canadian gem is always looking for ways to get better. There are some things about Toronto that you may not know about as well – so in today’s blog post we’ll be exploring these lesser-known facts! Toronto is the largest city in Canada, meaning it has a population of over three million people. What may surprise you though, is that only about one third of these residents are actually from Toronto – most hail from other parts of Canada as well as all around the world! This blog post title should be “Friendly, Beautiful Toronto: A City That Keeps Getting Better”. Toronto is one of the most livable cities in the world. It has a booming economy, an affordable cost of living and plenty to do during all four seasons. And not only that: it’s home to some of North America’s best restaurants, coolest neighbourhoods (Queen West) and cultural events (TIFF). With so much to do and see, it’s no wonder people are flocking to Toronto from all four corners of the earth and rightly so.

The city of Toronto is perhaps the most diverse city in Canada, and is home to a number of different cultures. In fact, about half the population are from visible minorities – meaning that Toronto has one of the highest populations of people who identify as such from anywhere in North America and the world at large. What sets this city apart though? It’s not just diversity for diversity’s sake – it actually translates into more opportunities! For instance, while many other cities have seen their ethnic minority groups grow poorer over time relatively speaking (an average income gap between $20k-30K), Toronto has shown very little change with an inequality rate at roughly $0. The result has been an increased number of new and better opportunities for everyone – whether that be job or housing based. And it’s not just ethnic diversity that makes Toronto the place to be – there is also a huge mix in terms of age groups, with millennials making up 25% of the population, and seniors making up 12%. Add this kind of diverse group to our excellent public transit system (which includes subways, streetcars, GO trains) and you’ll see why we have such great access to everything! And if you’re worried about safety? Well don’t worry too much because crime rates are lower than many other major cities like Chicago or New York City. Plus, all those people means more eyes on the streets which leads to less chance at being victimized. Toronto is one of the most diverse and multicultural cities in North America. With a population of 2.7 million people, it’s also one of the largest. The city has an amazing skyline that changes with every season, and there are tons of things to do for everyone! Toronto is one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in Canada, but it can also be a bit overwhelming to know where to start. There are so many places to visit, things to do, and experiences out there that sometimes it feels like we’ll never get through them all. – For those who enjoy nature, the Toronto Islands are a great place to go. Not only can you take in all the beauty of Lake Ontario while enjoying laid back culture and leisurely walks, but it’s also home to some pretty awesome beaches! Spend your day playing on the beach or going for a canoe ride out into lake Ontario. There are many parks and open spaces in the city, but the Toronto Islands are by far one of our favourites.

– If you’re looking for something a little more adventurous, then head to High Park! There’s so much here from walking trails and picnic areas to tennis courts and an ice rink in winter. With plenty of hills and valleys throughout the park, it has some great vantage points and boasts one of the largest off-leash dog parks in the province.

– If you’re more into culture, then head to one of the many art galleries or museums that Toronto has to offer. The AGO is a great place for contemporary exhibitions and still houses some impressive collections from Canadian artists such as Tom Thomson’s work but there are so many other options too!

– Want something totally different? The try out the city’s thriving theatre scene. There are plenty of plays, musicals and concerts that you can see in a variety of venues throughout the city. The Harold Green Jewish Theatre is one place to check out some new work being staged by local playwrights but there are also many other options!

– If it’s summertime, then head out to enjoy some outdoor theatre during the Toronto Fringe Festival. The festival runs for seventeen days and features a great variety of shows that you can see throughout the city but there are also plenty more options!

The fact that there are so many perspectives making up the city of Toronto doesn’t mean that people are fighting each other or endlessly competing with one another to the extent of exhaustion. Rather, it forces people to get along and work with one another for the greater good of society as a whole! We would also like to point out that Toronto has some of the best restaurants in North America – if you’re into food at all, this is definitely not something to miss when coming here! From traditional Polish dishes like pierogi or golabki (cabbage rolls) to more modern fusion fare such as poutine on pizza crusts from Pizzeria Libretto. There are many types of stores serving various cuisine to satisfy any palette. There is plenty of opportunity for everyone to indulge in food fare of their choice. This makes the city an attraction for most people who embrace multiculturalism and flavorful cuisine.
